I utilize methods to help mobilize and create pain free movement, using a gentle, energetic, and integrated approach. I'm experienced in perceiving and working with clients' innate healing capabilities to enhance and renew the mind and body’s balance, openness, and awareness. Helping to facilitate clients’ sense of overall well-being, peace, continuity, and resilience is the emphasis of my treatments.

I can incorporate a variety of massage techniques into your session, including: Hawaiian full arm flow (for deep and fascial release to ensure flexibility and relieve adhesions), warm rock heat therapy (for improving circulation and enhance relaxation), botanical essential oils (to nourish tissues on the cellular level), sports stretching and range of motion (for freedom of movement), lymph system interaction (for improved immunity and tissue strength), and craniosacral therapy (for cranial circulation and vital subtle energy, also scalp massage).

Ruth knew immediately that she wanted to learn the craft of massage therapy when she received her first massage at the age of 23. She then studied massage therapy and practiced as a licensed massage therapist in her hometown of Honolulu for the next 27 years. Ruth moved to Mukilteo with her family in 2016 and was licensed in Washington a year later.
Over the course of her career, Ruth has studied numerous modalities including Swedish, Lomi-Lomi, Myofascial Release, Thai massage, Visceral Manipulation, and intra-oral massage. She is also certified as an Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) practitioner and a Guild Certified Feldenkrais PractitionerTM, which she considers central to her work as a somatic educator. Both ATSI and the Feldenkrais MethodTM help to improve posture and function by addressing long-held patterns in the muscles and connective tissues that the body adopts in response to injury or chronic tension.

Ruth enjoys the challenge of matching her diverse skills to a client’s needs. She views each massage session as a journey toward well-being that practitioner and client embark on together. She believes the best massages involve a variety of pressures and techniques that address discoveries made along the way.
